The journey of *The Culture Compass*—created to help Black travelers connect, explore, and feel seen.
As a Black software engineer, I’ve been lucky to travel the world. But no matter where I went—whether it was a stunning beach in the Caribbean, a bustling city in Europe, or a hidden gem in Southeast Asia—I often felt alone. I saw the sights, tried the food, and took the pictures, but I didn’t always see people who looked like me. I didn’t always know where to find the Black-owned businesses, the cultural hotspots, or the spaces where I’d feel most at home.
That’s why I created *The Culture Compass*—an app designed for us, by us. It’s a platform where Black travelers can connect, share experiences, and discover places that celebrate our culture. Whether you're looking for Black-owned restaurants, vibrant nightlife, or safe spaces to relax, this app helps you navigate the world with confidence.
